Yay! It's Friday!

I just came back from a very pleasant evening with my good buddy, E. We had a quick but tasty dinner (Lebanese pancake?) at the night markets in Chatswood, followed by a movie "Breach" with E. Not only did we get in for free (I had a voucher for 2 free tickets), but we got another ticket voucher coz there was a glitch in the sound system during the movie. And I didn't even notice the problem. Sweet!

Nevertheless, I'm exhausted and my eyes are sore from staring at a computer screen day and night. I don't recall ever looking forward to the weekend more than I do now. I've been busy finalizing accommodation bookings for my trip to Japan with my aunt next week, researching and preparing for (and stressing about) interviews, working full-time as a temp...

Last week I was in St. Leonards working with a small team to format 50- to 250-page documents, which was not too bad. This week I'm at a telco services company in Chatswood, entering processing sales orders and entering order and customer info into databases. It was a challenge to remember all the details at first, but since Wednesday, I've just been bored out of my mind and am starting to make silly mistakes. The 3-person team I work with are great, but still...I can't wait to get out of here. (>_<);

However, I must admit that I was kinda preoccupied with interview preparation for a very interesting position and that may have affected my concentration, especially today. I went for an interview after work on Tuesday, and it went surprisingly well. I was then contacted the following morning about going for a second interview with the section manager and VP, which took place tonight. I was shown into the VP's office and taken around part of the building. I liked the random walls painted in bold primary colours, which really brightened up the work environment. Both interviewers seemed to like me and seem very friendly and approachable, have a great sense of humour and seem to be wonderful people. The VP even gave me a lift to the station! I have been told that I will be informed of their decision tomorrow...fingers crossed!^^

More photos here.

The Warmest May Day in 11 Years

My stomach feels like it's about to burst.
I was originally asked to dog-sit my aunt's new Shiba Inu that dislikes me, but was instead kindly asked to go along to my uncle's birthday dinner at Sheraton on the Park as they only had 7 people for an 8-person deal.
At all-you-can-eat buffets, I usually want to try a bit of everything which is rarely achieved despite my restricted selection and almost always results in indigestion. I was getting funny looks as everyone on the table started with a plate or two of fresh prawns, raw oysters, mussels, etc. and I had half a plate of salad - a mixed lettuce, green asparagus, sundried tomato, croutons and parmesan cheese salad - with some other vegie goodies. I then had a plate of the warm vegetarian dishes, a small bowl of thick and creamy pumpkin soup, and a long break before starting on dessert. Buffets are dangerous I tell ya. Oh but the desserts were so good...
